***image3***LEMS pupils earn top honors at Tech Fair
Eight students from Landstuhl Elementary and Middle School took
high honors at the annual Department of Defense Dependent Schools
Technology Fair this month.

Seventh-grader Michael Rynders took first place – earning the title of “Technology Student of the Year.”

The team – sixth-graders Alex Pastino, Zach Sharpe, Jordan
Thompson, seventh-graders Amber Corral, Michael Rynders and
eighth-graders Nick McCormick, Conner Sherwin and Zack Thompson snagged
a second place win in the Web Page Design category.

In the Aeronautical Design Competition, Zach Sharpe and Conner Sherwin
placed third.  The team met after school once a week all year
long.

“It has been a real challenge for the kids, and they have really risen
to the occasion,” said Rob Koziar, team sponsor and middle school
computer science teacher. “I  am very pleased with all their
work, and glad that they can see that hard work does pay off.”

Kaiserslautern American High School
officially announced the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class
of 2006. (left) Margaux Rogers was valedictorian. She plans to attend
Northland College in Ashland, Wis., where she will major in meteorology
and physics.
Adrianne Carson was salutatorian. She plans to attend Brigham Young
University in Provo, Utah where she will major in elementary education.
KAHS held its graduation ceremony June 9.
