Teen Dating Violence Awareness

In acknowledgement of Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, Army Community Service Family Advocacy Program will host a number of special activities for teens during February:
• 6 p.m. today: Teen Movie Night at Wagon Wheel Theater on Smith Barracks, Bldg. 8125
• 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday: Teen Cosmic Bowling Night at Vogelweh Bowling Center, Bldg. 2060
• 6 p.m. Feb. 26: Teen Movie Night Exchange Reel Time Theater on Ramstein in the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center, Bldg. 3336
• 6 to 8 p.m Feb. 27: Teen Cosmic Bowling Night at Strikers Bowling Center on Smith Barracks, Bldg. 8105

Pit Stop Racing Day

Come on down to Rheinland-Pfalz Library in Landstuhl, Bldg. 3810, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday and bring your race cars. Enjoy car races, crafts and more. You may even trade your race cars if you wish. This event is open to all ages and everyone who loves cars. No registration required. Dr. Seuss celebration

A Dr. Seuss celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 5 at Landstuhl Youth Center, Bldg. 93812. Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Army Europe Libraries, and Child, Youth and School Services join together to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss, who is considered to be one of America’s greatest authors. The event will feature guest readers, games, hands-on activities, story time, a puppet show, a meet and greet with several Seussian characters and more. Members of the community are invited to bring the entire family. Registration is not required for this free event. TAG meeting

Calling all teens! The Teen Advisory Group meeting is an opportunity for teens to make their voices heard about what programs and materials they want to see offered at the library. The TAG meetings are held the second Thursday of every month from 3 to 4 p.m. for middle school students and 4 to 5 p.m. for high school students. No registration required. Spring theater classes

Do you have a child interested in getting involved with theater? KMC Onstage offers home-school theater classes for youth, ages 5 to 18 years old. Home-school theater classes include: Pantomime, Pratfalls and Play, open to ages 5 to 8 years old; and Shakespeare and Kids, open to ages 8 to 18 years old. Ignite a love of reading. JoyRead™ is a unique program that sparks a lifelong passion for reading and gives your young child a jumpstart in life. The research-based curriculum consists of letters, sounds and words that provide fun and easy ways for parents to get their kids ready to read. Join JoyRead™ founder, Jennifer Robinson, for an exciting and meaningful experience. Each class runs once weekly for eight weeks. Open to children, ages 0-4, and their caregivers.
