Friday, Feb. 10, was a cold, dreary day on Ramstein. A blanket of dark clouds eclipsed the sun and sky, shutting out the light and dappling the landscape with delicate snow. Anybody would have wanted to stay inside and succumb to the stillness of a grave winter morning.
Clear skies and a cold breeze added to the atmosphere of the moment while two crews assigned to the 37th Airlift Squadron at Ramstein assisted their passengers’ mission for the day: jumping out of a perfectly good C-130J Super Hercules.
Team Ramstein is embracing its culture of innovation by putting a new way to inspect its units and Airmen into action.

Twelve Airmen work diligently, reviewing checklists and running inspections, as fuel is pumped into two C-130J Super Hercules aircraft before another busy day.
The 37th Airlift Squadron completed an airfield seizure during exercise Carpathian Spring May 18 in Romania.
OTOPENI AIR BASE, Romania — The 37th Airlift Squadron kicked off exercise Carpathian Summer 2016 May 9 on Otopeni Air Base, Romania.
Representatives of the French air force visited with Airmen at the 37th Airlift Squadron for a presentation on aircraft features and capabilities after recently purchasing several of their own C-130J Super Hercules and KC-130 Hercules April 28 on Ramstein.
Two Airmen from the 37th Airlift Squadron were awarded the Air Medal Feb. 19 on Ramstein.
