One of the most important responsibilities the Army has is to remember and continue to support the families of Soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Baumholder has taken this responsibility to heart and created a Remembrance Room that serves to honor and remember Baumholder Soldiers who have given their lives for their country and their surviving family members.
Baumholder’s monthly 5 kilometer runs carry a specific theme, but the run on Sept. 11 had a very special meaning attached to it.
Delegates from 33 European countries belonging to the Conventional Forces Europe Treaty Compliance came to Baumholder June 26 as part of a Vienna Document visit.
It was seven weeks in the making, but Baumholder’s new Warrior Zone is now a reality. The Warrior Zone officially opened at its new location next to the Hall of Champions May 23, only moments after the official opening of the Baumholder EXPO.
Mixing fun with learning is nothing new, but Baumholder took that concept one step further by creating a festival atmosphere with free food, drinks and entertainment for the more than 1,000 visitors at this year’s EXPO and Safety Stand Down Day May 24.
Baumholder honored its fallen Soldiers May 17 during their annual Fallen Soldier Memorial Run. More than 200 runners, walkers, strollers and dog walkers showed up for the annual run.
The 2013 Baumholder Expo is a community event that provides information to Soldiers, civilians and family members about all resources, agencies, organizations and businesses of the U.S. Army Garrison Baumholder and of the surrounding German community. This one-stop “get smart” even is scheduled from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday in and around the Hall of Champions.
Family members of fallen service members now have special parking spots near several facilities in the Baumholder community.
Baumholder stood up a new data network recently that increases the speed and efficiency of network users in Baumholder. The project upgraded and expanded the voice and data communication systems for the entire installation and brought the quartermaster and clinic areas onto the fiber network.
Buc Night celebrates its 22nd birthday May 3. That’s how many years the high school’s annual scholarship fundraiser has been helping seniors with their college expenses.
