The Ramstein-Miesenbach union community administration office is announcing that its public swimming pool Azur will offer its second midnight swimming Saturday.

The historical part of Kaiserslautern, called the “Altstadt,” will turn into a party zone for the annual Altstadtfest July 5 to 7.

Otterberg will sponsor its traditional spring fest Saturday through Monday. Every two years since the middle of the 18th century, the community celebrates this spring fest, in turn with the old town fest.

The carnival ends June 3. For a total of 11 days, more than 140 ride owners and vendors will offer their attractions, merchandise and food specialties in the giant “amusement city.”

The Gartenschau Kaiserslautern will sponsor a medieval festival Saturday and Sunday. The event will feature a medieval market; a camp with knights, jugglers and minstrel singers; games; and food vendors.

After the successful culinary hike in Rodenbach in September that saw about 10,000 visitors, organizers will offer their first spring culinary hike starting at 11 a.m. Saturday in Wolfstein.

The English Theatre Frankfurt has gained fame as the largest English-speaking theater in continental Europe. It has become a major player in the Rhine-Main region’s cultural scene since its foundation in 1979.
