Over the two-day visit, Lt. Gen. Rod Bishop, Third Air Force commander, hosted French Lt. Gen. Patrick de Rousiers at Ramstein and Spangdahlem to offer the general an opportunity to see key missions performed by U.S. Airmen on a daily basis. One of the highlights of the visit was observing Ramstein’s aeromedical evacuation mission.

The main focus of the visit was to strengthen working relationships with the French military and share ideas on how to improve mission success for both militaries, General Bishop said.

The French military is in the process of moving its Air and Space Operation Center, and then standing it back up. The visit will help the French military make improvements during their process of standing up their AOC while improving interoperability and maintaining friendly foreign relations with the U.S. Air Forces in Europe.
