Singers Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey recently visited the KMC, meeting patients from downrange, giving performances and filming segments with other celebrities for their ABC variety show.

Two of the couple’s main stops were at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center Saturday and the 435th Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility April 22, where they provided a diversion for injured Soldiers and Marines.
They signed autographs, posed for pictures and made an impromptu phone call.

Mrs. Simpson agreed and mom, who was asleep in New York, received a 5 a.m. wake-up call.

“I’m here with your son and I bet you’re jealous,” she said. “You sound groggy. Did I wake you up?”

This was the third United Service Organizations trip for the couple. They’ve been to Bosnia, Italy and Afghanistan.
