USAFE to host Turkey Trot

KMC citizens will have the opportunity to work their way toward big Thanksgiving dinners Nov. 18 when the U.S. Air Forces in Europe hosts the Turkey Trot regional cross country event at the 38th Construction and Training Squadron site near Ramstein’s west gate.

The events are scheduled to kick off at 10 a.m. with a five-kilometer run, and a 10K race will follow 15 minutes later. The actual “Turkey Trot,” a five-kilometer fun run/walk, begins at 11 a.m. Giveaways and drawings, which includes 10 turkeys up for grabs, will take place at noon.

There are three categories for racers, including open (ages 18 and up), senior (ages 35 and up) and youth (high school participants – five-kilometer race only). All categories are broken into male and female subcategories. Awards will be presented to the first, second and third place winners in each race categories.

All U.S. ID card holders assigned to Europe and TDY personnel assigned for more than 30 days are eligible to participate. The course runs through a scenic wooded area immediately behind the CTS compound.

Entry is free for all participants. For registration information, contact Steven Lowe at steven.lowe@sembach.af.mil or call the USAFE sports office staff at 496-7934. (Courtesy of the USAFE sports office)
