‘Welcome back’
Soldiers from 29th Support Group come home from Afghanistan

***image1***After one year in Afghanistan, a platoon of Kaiserslautern-based troops have returned home.

Thirty-seven Soldiers of the 1st Cargo Transfer Company arrived at
Ramstein June 30. The Soldiers spent the past 12 months shipping and
handling cargo while based at Bagram, Afghanistan, in support of
Operation Enduring Freedom.

“It feels great to be home,” said Spc. Mike Mullarkey. “I’m really
proud of the job our guys did, especially the humanitarian aid
missions. But it will be nice to just relax for a while.”

After reintegration, and some well-deserved leave, the Soldiers will
rejoin the company and the 29th Support Group with its various support
missions in Central Region. The 1st Cargo Transfer Company’s 2nd
Platoon replaced the unit in Afghanistan last month.
