Welsh and his wife visited to interact with Airmen and discuss the state of the Air Force, as well as to gain a better understanding of the responsibilities of Team Ramstein. As the senior uniformed Air Force officer, Welsh is responsible for the organization, training and equipping of 690,000 active-duty, Guard, Reserve and civilian forces serving in the United States and overseas. Prior to his current position, he was U.S. Air Forces in Europe commander.
