This two-day course offered by the 86th Medical Group helped sharpen Airmen’s skills when performing advanced life support procedures for cardiac arrest and arrhythmias.

Photo by Senior Airman Damon KasbergWorld-renowned concert pianist Marvin Goldstein plays love songs for an audience Feb. 21 in the Ramstein Officers’ Club. Goldstein said he believes music has a unique ability to bring people together regardless of race, religion or politics. During the free concert he interacted with the audience, playing requests and adding comedic remarks, using the crowd’s reaction to decide what songs to play next. Goldstein’s son, Senior Airman Nicholas Goldstein, is currently stationed at Ramstein working with the 700th Contracting Squadron as a contract administrator. He suggested to his father to perform for the base during his visit.

Dextromethorphan, or DXM, an ingredient in more than 140 cough and cold medications, is a safe and highly effective cough suppressant; however, when ingested in excessive amounts, DXM produces physiological effects that include hallucinations, feelings of detachment from surroundings and self, loss of motor control, drowsiness, rapid heartbeat and vomiting.

The 53rd annual Pfennig Bazaar, sponsored by the German-American and International Women’s Club Kaiserslautern, under the patronage of Kaiserslautern’s Lord Mayor Dr. Klaus Weichel, is a special flea market where patrons can find true treasures at bargain prices.
