Airman 1st Class Amanda Jolly, 786th Force Support Squadron service flight kitchen personnel, prepares meals Jan. 28 on Ramstein. The Jawbone Flight Kitchen, which services approximately 3,000 service members per month, is competing for the John L. Hennessy Award. In order to win in a category, the group competing must show excellence in food service management, readiness, quality in food, customer service, resource conservation, safety, and training.

Roaring lions, small dogs

The place to see a lion is in a zoo. Well-fed and exercised, the king of the beasts is there to be seen in all its glory. There’s even a nice barrier to ensure the lion stays on its side and the people stay on theirs. In other words, there are no unauthorized snacks for the lion.

Diversity is our strength

I learned early in life that diversity equals strength. I attended Robert E. Lamberton public school in Philadelphia at the age of 10. Though Lamberton had a reputation as a good academic school, diversity of the student body is what made it special.
