Culinary hike in Rodenbach
The sixth culinary hike in Rodenbach takes place Saturday and Sunday. Walkers will pass seven stations where they can taste culinary specialties and wines by regional caterers, butchers and vintners along about 4 km of mostly paved trails. The hike begins with an opening ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday and ends around 9 p.m. Activities on Sunday are from 10 a.m. to about 7 p.m. Participants can buy a wine pass for €7 and will receive a small glass to taste wines at each wine station. The passes can be obtained at the two information stands. Children can jump on a bouncy castle and get their faces painted. Participants can park their vehicles on parking lots in the Industriegebiet Nord, Hans-Geiger-Strasse, Kaiserslautern, the industrial area between Vogelweh and Weilerbach, along state road L367, and start their route here following the signs. Landstuhl celebrates city fest
Landstuhl celebrates its 27th city fest today through Sunday. The event features a musical program with more than 20 bands on three stages, regional culinary specialties and a car display behind Stadthalle. Sunday, stores are open from 1 to 6 p.m. The fest opens with officials tapping the first keg of beer at 6:30 p.m. today followed by Wings of Dixie, a U.S. Air Forces in Europe Band, performing until 8:30 p.m. The bands Teamwork, Copyright, 7ty Proof and Funhouse plays P!nk perform until 11:30 p.m. More bands will perform from 3:30 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Barbarossa fest continues 
Kaiserslautern’s Barbarossa fest, “Swinging Lautern,” continues today and Saturday in the center of town. The event features an international musical program, children’s activities, fashion shows, a vehicle display, special activities presented by the shops and food specialties. The U.S. Air Forces in Europe Band Wings of Dixie will play from noon to 3 p.m. today in front of Stiftskirche and the Ambassadors band will entertain the audience from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday on the stage on Schillerplatz.
