In Kaiserslautern, about 3,000 soccer fans celebrated the final draw for the 2006 FIFA World Cup with a party and live bands Dec. 9 on Stiftsplatz. The audience was enthusiastic about the results of the draw and applauded the teams that will play in the local stadium.

Special Events at Kaiserslautern Christmas Market


The Christmas market in Kaiserslautern will present a live nativity scene 5 p.m. Monday on Schillerplatz. A horse farm will show how animals celebrate Christmas. The Goldway Pipers will play music before the Kaiserslautern Zoo will open its petting zoo from 5 to 7 p.m. The school orchestra of the Kurpfalz Realschule will perform 6 to 8 p.m.
