The annual Rheinland-Pfalz State Fair takes place today through Sunday
in Baumholder. For the 24th time, cities, union communities of the
state of Rheinland-Pfalz and military forces participate in the fair to
demonstrate who they are and what they have to offer. This year

Castle stage for medieval market
The Middle Ages are back at Lichtenberg Castle near Kusel Saturday and
Sunday when a medieval fest takes place. Vendors and craftsmen in
historical costumes present and sell their merchandise. A knights camp
is set up where knights present show fights. Medieval music groups and
jugglers and fire-eaters entertain visitors. Food based on old recipes
is offered.
