Moldovan students leave Liceul Teoretic Alexei Mateevici School for the day Oct. 19 in Sanatauca, Moldova. Airmen from the 435th Construction and Training Squadron and the 52nd Civil Engineer Squadron have been working on renovations to a gymnasium locker room at the school since Sept. 23. The Moldova Humanitarian and Civic Assistance program is part of a military and civilian theater security cooperation program the U.S. European Command uses to directly impact civilian communities throughout 17 countries, primarily in Eastern Europe. In addition to allowing service members the opportunity to further their skill sets on the construction site, HCA projects also promote increased bonds and trust for future operations and improvement between the U.S. and partnered nations.
