The 86th Airlift Wing Retiree Activities Office hosted the annual Retiree Appreciation Day event Oct. 13 to 17 on Ramstein as part of a weeklong celebration for retirees.

Cleaning our work areas and residences is sometimes neglected due to the busy operational tempo of the KMC. Designating time specifically for the upkeep of our facilities helps to remind us that a clean work and living area improves the working environment and the appearance of our on-base housing to our residents and visitors.

Firefighters and base leadership demonstrate extinguishing an aircraft fire Oct. 8 on Ramstein. As part of Fire Prevention Week, families visited Fire Station 1 to learn about fire safety including home-fire safety issues, fire extinguisher training and holiday safety tips. The event concluded with a live fire demonstration where leadership from throughout Ramstein helped firefighters extinguish a simulated aircraft fire in the burn pit.
