Dependents Schools Professional Technical Studies Expo for the third year in a row. The PTS Expo, formerly known as the DODDS Tech Fair, has been the highlight of the PTS program for many years.

Students throughout DODDS came together and competed head-to-head in a variety of technical and professional contests.

Kaiserslautern High School once again took the top spot in the Cisco Networking competitions. For the past three years, KHS students have been making their claim as having one of the best Cisco programs in DODDS.  This year was no exception as KHS took first place in both the Cisco I and Cisco II competitions.

The Cisco Networking competitions are extremely challenging as students build, configure and test both actual and virtual networks.  Competition material comes directly from the Cisco Networking Academy Program.

The Cisco Networking Academy Program is a comprehensive e-learning program that provides students with the Internet technology skills essential in a global economy.
The Networking Academy delivers Web-based content, online assessment, student performance tracking, hands-on labs, instructor training and support, and preparation for industry standard certifications (CCENT, CCNA, A+), all of which is offered at KHS as part of the PTS program.

The Cisco Program can be taken as either a one- or two-year course. The one-year program is designed to prepare the student to take the industry level CCENT examination. The full two-year program prepares students to pass the highly respected Cisco Certified Network Associate examination. This particular certificate is highly sought after by most networking professionals.

CCNA technical training is extremely expensive. A typical CCNA Bootcamp (one-week program) will cost the customer approximately $3,000. DODDS students receive two years of training at no cost as well as a free CCNA test voucher valued at $150.
For more information about the Cisco program, contact your DODDS school counselor.

The program is available to all incoming sophomores, juniors and seniors and is offered to both Ramstein and KHS students. Register now.
