Softball playoffs get underway

***image1***The intramural softball playoffs kicked off with seven games being played Monday.

The postseason started with 435 CS and U.OWS squaring off at the southside field. 435 CS won handily with a score of 20-3. The following games at the southside field were an 11-4 victory by 435 MMS over 700 CONS, a 5-4 win by 38 CTS over U.RSS and a default win by 569 USFPS after MALS-14 was forced to forfeit.

Three games were also played at the northside field. 435 MDG started the action there with a 27-4 blowout of 435 SVS. 435 MUNS followed with a big 25-9 win over U.A7 and Monday’s action was closed out with 435 CPTS narrowly beating 735 CES 16-14.

The winners of these games all advance to the second round which closes out today. The playoffs will run until the championship game, which is slated for 6 p.m. Thursday at the northside field.
