As 40 U.S. Army, Europe Soldiers boarded a plane Saturday from Germany,
everyone talked excitedly about their destination: Africa. Seven hours
later, they touched down in the sparsely populated nation of Benin to
join MEDFLAG
Capt. Dennis Skelton took a rocket-propelled grenade to the chest
during the second battle in Fallujah. On Sept. 8 he returned to
Landstuhl Regional Medical Center to thank the hospital staff for
helping him recover from major injuries.
A visit earlier this year to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center prompted
the Help Hospitalized Vets organization to give the hospital a
substantial monetary donation.
Divine motivation has led Chaplain (Capt.) Brian L. Bohlman to collect
personalized notes of thanks and deliver them to servicemembers
involved with the Global War on Terrorism. His unique approach to
ministry work is turning heads at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center,
just as has the book he wrote about oath-taking a few years back.
The best wedding planners will tell you that the most
important expense is a photographer. After all, photos are the only
thing a couple has after the event is over beside the rings and double
set of toasters and coffee makers.
Three years ago my husband and I had the good fortune of meeting a lovely British couple at the Ramstein Welfare Bazaar.
Bob Wallis is a retired policeman and for almost 10 years he was the
commander of the Sub Division named Newmarket which included the
civilian responsibility for the bases of RAF Mildenhall and Lakenheath.
He retained the distinction of commanding the Mildenhall Air Show for
10 years which, at that time was the largest two-day air show in
Europe.
Two 86th Airlift Wing Airmen were named Airlift Tanker Association
award winners and will attend a recognition ceremony at the A/TA
Convention Oct. 29 through Nov. 1 in Orlando, Fla.
