those in the community who willingly endanger the safety of everyone on
base.
Our Air Force is engaged in the Global War on Terrorism. On a daily
basis, our Airmen are involved in air and ground combat actions.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month reinforces the Department of Defense
Soldiers, Civilians and Families of the United States Army, I am
extremely proud to be taking charge of an organization that is rightly
regarded as the best in the world. I have watched the men and women of
our Army in action for the past several years in the most demanding
combat environment.
Sexual assault is a violent crime that, unfortunately, occurs in all
corners of American society. Accordingly, the Department of Defense
strives to ensure that servicemembers are aware that sexual assault is
not tolerated.
