We are reminded every day of the importance of protecting American
resources, particularly our most valuable resource: our people.
Therefore, it is very disheartening to discover the mindless actions of
those in the community who willingly endanger the safety of everyone on
base.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month reinforces the Department of Defense

Soldiers, Civilians and Families of the United States Army, I am
extremely proud to be taking charge of an organization that is rightly
regarded as the best in the world. I have watched the men and women of
our Army in action for the past several years in the most demanding
combat environment.

Sexual assault is a violent crime that, unfortunately, occurs in all
corners of American society. Accordingly, the Department of Defense
strives to ensure that servicemembers are aware that sexual assault is
not tolerated.

The abuse of over-the-counter medications is an increasing concern for
law enforcement and health care personnel throughout the United States.
